Natural Feminine Looks

Great Lengths hair is the finest quality virgin hair and are the only company that do not use any toxic chemicals in the de-pigmentation process. Hair texture is thick from root to tip and is silky smooth and shiny. My clients cannot believe how luscious it feels.

Great Lengths is all about natural looking hair and hair that looks your own. This can be achieved by us giving an exact colour match, applying enough hair that it looks thick and luxurious and then cutting to finish extensions. Most of my clients so far have had up to 5 different shades put together to create a natural look. 

For my latest client I created a darker depth of colour underneath and gradually got lighter towards the top. This creates a very feminine and natural look and automatically makes hair appear thicker. 

I've even found with darker haired clients I am putting 2 shades in also. I love having a natural lighter shade running through it. 

I love soft waves and flicked out fringes, middle partings and long layers. The over processed and over straightened hair has long gone and is now all about effortless looking hair with warmer shades of gold and caramels. I particularly love Holly Willoughby's hair, it always looks healthy, tousled, natural and just stunning.

New Face of 2013 – my first blog!

Dear Diary...

I’m Jodi Rice, I qualified as a Great Lengths certified stylist late last year and I’m super excited to be sharing my journey with the Inner Circle!

Getting started...

For a long time I’d really wanted to develop my skills as a stylist by training as an extensionist...but I didn’t think there would be enough demand in my local area.

What really spurred me on was when a friend came to me who had really poor quality hair applied by an untrained stylist – I compared this with all the totally gorgeous, amazing transformations I had seen on Great Lengths Facebook & Twitter and it made me want to take the plunge even more...

Then I had my own hair done by Stylist Ambassador Abigail Nicholls and I fell in love!

Starting with Style!

The training was brilliant. I loved how quickly we got into the practical side and it was fab to be able to find out so much about how the trainers had developed their skills with Great Lengths and their incredible creative experience.

I felt so proud for achieving an extra qualification, especially with a prestigious brand like Great Lengths.

After that, I was so excited...I just could not wait to get started.  It turned out I was totally wrong about there being no demand for extensions in my area: I had clients waiting for me to complete my training so I was thrown in at the deep end!

My first client...

I have to admit, I was a little nervous before my first client arrived but once I got going, the nerves melted away.  I got a pattern forming and I began to see the new style taking place – so exciting!

The client couldn’t have been happier...and even I couldn't believe the transformation after looking over my before and after photographs!

Getting up and running...

I loved the dramatic effect I’d created with Great Lengths so much that I decided to pop the before and after shots on Facebook.  I was really glad I did because I had a real influx of interest from girls who loved the results.  Making my own business pages on Facebook and Twitter has definitely been the best way for me to pick up my new clients.

I also love receiving all the fab new posters and leaflets from Great Lengths; these have a massive impact in my salon, The Hair Shop.
